Can anyone drive the campervans?
Our insurance covers any driver from 23-70 years of age, providing they don’t have more than 6 points on their licence.

What about insurance?
Each hire includes fully comprehensive insurance cover for one driver aged between 23 to 70 years with a minimum 2 years driving experience. Drivers with up to six penalty points for minor offences are accepted.
For extra drivers there will be an additional cost. Drivers aged 23 and 24 are considered, however a higher security deposit is required.

Is there a security bond/deposit?
Yes, there is a refundable security deposits which covers the insurance excess of £750, however only £500 will be taken upfront payable by cash, card payment or bank transfer. However in the event of vehicle damage a further £250 will be paid by the hirer to cover the full insurance excess.
After the vehicle is returned on the agreed time and date a full and fair vehicle inspection will be given, followed by a refund providing the camper is returned in the same condition as it went out (including a full tank of unleaded petrol).
If you are aged 23 or 24, the security deposit is £750.

Do I have to pay a booking deposit?
Yes, there is a non-refundable booking deposit of £75 for short breaks and £150 for longer breaks (please see our Terms), which confirm the your required booking dates.

Can more than 1 party drive the Campervan?
Yes, We will need to see the driving licence and one other form of identification for all drivers.  There is a fee of £25 per additional Driver.

Can we travel abroad?
No


Can we leave our car at Columbus?
Yes, you are more than welcome to leave your car at the premises during your hire.  Note: all vehicles left during hire are entirely at your own risk.

Can I use public transport to Columbus?
Yes, If you are coming to us by train or coach we can arrange pickup from Swansea, Gowerton or Llanelli railway or bus station if that is more convenient at an additional cost.

How many can fit in a Columbus Campervan?
There are five seat belts in each campervan. The campervan will comfortably sleep four people, two adults and one/ two children depending on their size.  The Westfalia pop top bed is limited to a weight of 14 stone/ 90 kg, if additional space is required there is an awning available.

How many seat belts are fitted?
Poppy has four seat belts and Scarlet has five seat belts.

Is there any luggage space ?
Each campervan has original Westfalia storage units plus luggage rack on the rear pop top for extra space.
We do have awnings for extra space if you require.

Can we extend our campervan holiday in the whilst we are away?
Yes, as long as the campervan is not already booked. Simply call us while you’re away and we will arrange the additional insurance and booking costs.

Can we park anywhere overnight?
No, you must use a designated camping area at night.

Does the Campervans have electric hook up?
Yes, we can supply a UK 3 way mobile mains kit so if you stay on campsites with this facility, you can plug in your electrical items and enjoy your luxuries.

Can we tow a trailer?
No, the campervans do not have tow bars.

Can we put a bike rack on the back?
Yes, we can supply a bike rake for two bikes, additional charge of £20.

What is the Campervans top speed?
Its recommended that maximum cruising speed is between 50mph and 55mph.  It’s time to relax so take it easy and cherish every moment cruising in style!

What time can we collect the Campervan?
Any time you like from 2.30pm on your chosen day.  A set time will be agreed to go through the formalities and camper controls.

What time can we return the Campervan?
We ask you to return the campervan by 10:00 am.  You can drop the camper off earlier but if you’re going to be late please get in touch as the insurance will need to be amended.  There will be a late fee charge of £45 per hour unless otherwise agreed before hand.

What happens if we breakdown?
In the unlikely event of a breakdown, you will have full roadside assistance, 24 hours a day included in the hire costs.  We do have our campers serviced and checked regularly however all information regarding breakdown assistance will be in the camper.


Do I have to return the camper with a full tank of petrol?
Yes, please.  On collection the campervan will have a full tank of unleaded petrol ready for your exploration.  The campervan is to be returned with a full tank.

Do you allow smoking?
No!
We have a strict no smoking policy in all our vans and awning. You will be liable for any damage caused to either, or their contents, through smoking.

Will Gas supplied for the cooker?
Yes, Gas for the cooker will be supplied. If it runs out whilst on hire, you can refill/replace the bottle. Just request the VAT receipt and we will reimburse the cost. (Maximum one bottle per hire).
